My Journey

As a stylist of 25 years, I was often intimidated by clients with curly hair. I would nervously make small talk with them, while panicking inside and waiting for the cut to be over. To make matters worse, I would lie to them, saying things like "it will look great when you do it" or "let's load your hair with oils to calm the frizz." After the cut, I would always feel defeated and hoped they wouldn't return.

All this changed when I opened my own salon in 2008. I knew it was time to face my fears and learn how to work with curly hair. My journey began in New York City, where I was trained in cutting curls. It was an eye-opening experience that gave me the confidence to change the lives of

curly-haired people everywhere.

I realized that cutting curly hair is not just about the technique, but also about communication and the delivery of a great haircut that gives clients hope, happiness, and the confidence to feel amazing. I came to understand that this was not just a haircut, but a way to make a difference for people of all ethnicities and to create a safe environment where curly hair could thrive.
